As the social and sporting driving force of the region, the EVZ also supports local and national aid and charity projects. Every year, a charity event is organised together with the women of the first team players and collected for a good cause together with the fans from the region.
Donation campaign 2017: Zuger help Zuger
Before the home match against HC Lugano in December 2017, the partners of the first team collected money for the Christmas mailbox of the Zug Cantonal Women's Federation in front of the BOSSARD Arena. Zug fans also supported the campaign in favour of the Christmas mailbox and collected the cup deposits in the stadium during the match. Together they collected CHF 5,000 and handed it over to the Zug Christmas mailbox. In preparation for the fundraising campaign, the player's wives and employees of the EVZ office, together with the Rotary Club Zug-Zugersee, also diligently packed food parcels for the Zug Christmas mailbox. The food packages benefited Zug families in need and were distributed by the Rotary Club Zug-Zugersee to selected families throughout the canton.
Greenhope Hockey Charity Game 2018: Sport against cancer
In 2018, the EVZ participated in the Hockey Charity Game, which took place on December 9 in Davos. The Greenhope Foundation, which was founded in 2015, is particularly committed to helping children with cancer under the motto "Sport against Cancer". To support the foundation, the EVZ and HC Davos played with special jerseys in the colors of Greenhope - the fans could also contribute to the donation by buying these jerseys. Of the proceeds, 70% went to the Greenhope Foundation for further events in support of children with cancer and 30% to the EVZ junior team.
Pink Ribbon Charity Game 2021: Fight against breast cancer
To draw attention to the importance of early detection of breast cancer, the EVZ played in pink at the home game on October 22 against SC Bern and carried out various collection campaigns. With the "Charity Game", the EVZ supported the fight against breast cancer and in particular drew attention to the importance of early detection. In doing so, the club cooperated with the organization Pink Ribbon Switzerland (pink-ribbon.ch), which has been involved in the fight against the still widespread cancer with awareness campaigns and solidarity events since 2007.
The worldwide symbol for the fight against breast cancer is the pink ribbon, which is why the EVZ played the game against SC Bern in pink and advertising-free match jerseys. In addition, before, during and after the game, collection campaigns were held for the benefit of Pink Ribbon Switzerland. In total, around CHF 30,000 was collected and donated at the charity game.
