EVZ parts ways with Reto Kläy – Ted Suihkonen takes over

The EVZ Board of Directors has decided to terminate its working relationship with Reto Kläy with immediate effect. His successor will be Ted Suihkonen.

Reto Kläy served as General Manager of EVZ for twelve years and played a key role in shaping the club’s sporting development during that time. The two parties have now parted ways due to differing strategic directions.

“We would like to express our sincere thanks to Reto Kläy for his many years of service and his great commitment. We wish him all the best for the future,” says Dr Hans-Peter Strebel, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Reto Kläy: “I would like to express my gratitude for twelve incredible years at EVZ. During this time, I had the privilege of working alongside many wonderful people and celebrating sporting successes that will remain with me forever. I therefore regret all the more that the Board of Directors’ views on the future strategic direction no longer align with my own.”

Ted Suihkonen new GM

The Board of Directors is delighted to appoint Ted Suihkonen as the new General Manager. The 48-year-old, who holds dual American and Swedish citizenship, has been serving as Head of Development at EVZ since 2022 and takes over from Reto Kläy with immediate effect. He will be supported in this role by Reto Suri, a former EVZ first-team player and current U21 Elite Head Coach.

Ted Suihkonen: “I would like to thank the Board of Directors for their trust. I am very much looking forward to continuing the successful work at EVZ together with the team and to consistently developing the sporting side of the club.”
