To draw attention to the importance of early detection of breast cancer, the EVZ will play in pink in its October 15 home game against the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and carry out various collection campaigns.
For years, the EVZ has been involved not only in sports, but also in social issues. EVZ players regularly appear as ambassadors to draw attention to important social issues and support projects, especially when it comes to health, which is also so important in sports.
With the "Pink Ribbon Charity Game" against the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, the EVZ wants to support the fight against breast cancer, as it did in October 2021, and in particular draw attention to the importance of early detection. The club is cooperating with the Pink Ribbon Switzerland organization (pink-ribbon.ch), which has been involved in the fight against this still widespread cancer since 2007 with awareness campaigns and solidarity events, and this year celebrates its 15th anniversary. In Switzerland, 6200 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year and more than 1400 women die from it - a figure that could be reduced with more frequent early detection.
The worldwide symbol for the fight against breast cancer is the pink ribbon, which is why the EVZ will play this game in pink, advertising-free match jerseys. To support important breast cancer projects and research into this disease, the EVZ is selling "Pink Ribbon Charity Scarves" in cooperation with Pink Ribbon Switzerland and Vinivia AG, which will be available online from October 1 and in the fan store at the BOSSARD Arena from October 5. The pink Charity Game jerseys, which the players will wear on October 15, will be auctioned off on ricardo.ch following the "Pink Ribbon Charity Game".
Come in pink to the game against the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and help set an example in the fight against breast cancer, support important breast cancer projects and show solidarity with those affected!
