The young forward receives his first National League contract until 2024.
In 2018, Dario Allenspach switched to the junior department of the EVZ and started his training in the Hockey Academy, which he will complete in the summer of 2022. “Thanks to the Academy, I was able to combine my commercial training with the sport and thus always train at the highest level,” explains the 19-year-old forward. “This has certainly helped me to take the step towards becoming a professional”.
Last season, the junior international played in the EVZ Academy (Swiss League) as well as with the U20-Elit and the National League team of the EVZ and became Swiss champion with both the juniors and the 1st team. “Dario embodies what we want to achieve with the Hockey Academy,” says General Manager Reto Kläy. “We want to encourage and challenge our players at a young age. This is the only way we can introduce them to professional hockey as early as possible and integrate them into our NL team.” Allenspach will be one of a total of seven Hockey Academy graduates in the EVZ squad for the 2022/23 season (Nico Gross, Luca Hollenstein, Sven Leuenberger, Livio Stadler, Dario Wüthrich, Yannick Zehnder).
In the current season, the 184cm tall and 75kg left-shooter has scored 3 goals and given 1 assist in 26 games so far.
