Two of the teams with the strongest form meet in the BOSSARD Arena. EVZ has won three of its last five games, EHC Kloten even four, and that in succession: against HC Ajoie and Geneva-Servette HC as well as Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and EHC Biel. Kloten’s forward Miro Aaltonen is on a roll and is preparing to threaten Daniel Voženílek’s season record. The latter has scored eleven times in a row (EVZ club record), Aaltonen seven times so far. The 31-year-old Finn, who is in his third season with EHC Kloten, leads the National League scoring charts with 15 goals. His best mark in Switzerland over a full season is 19 goals, which he scored in 2022-23.
On Tuesday (November 26, 7:45 p.m.), the EVZ will host their neighbors in the standings, EHC Kloten.
Last week, Mike Künzle found his way back to scoring at the EVZ: After a six-game drought, he scored a personal moment of happiness in both the 5-2 win over Rapperswil-Jona and the 2-1 overtime victory in Biel. Leonardo Genoni was also particularly happy to be able to celebrate his season debut in Zug’s goal in the overtime win after a long injury break.
The opposite is the case for Kloten: Ludovic Waeber, their regular goalkeeper, has been out for several weeks due to injury since last weekend. Mathieu Croce, who joined the team from partner team HC Thurgau, replaces him. He is battling against former Zug player Sandro Zurkirchen for appearances.
