The Ajoulots only have a theoretical chance of making the play-in games. Eight rounds before the end of the regular season, they are at the bottom of the table with 42 points, 17 points behind 10th place, which would qualify them for the play-in games, and 13 points behind 12th place, which would mean the end of the season. However, Ajoie have picked up 6 points from their last three games – they snatched a point from the (admittedly decimated) ZSC Lions after overtime and won 4-2 away from home against Geneva, who are also struggling. The Ajoulots also picked up 2 points in overtime against Biel on Friday night.
The EVZ will visit the team at the bottom of the table on Saturday evening (February 1, 7:45 p.m.).
EVZ leads the head-to-head ahead of the final game of the season with 9:0 points and 14:2 goals. In the last game before the national team break, Dan Tangnes’ team would like to return home with three points in order not to lose touch with the leaders.
