The EVZ Women’s Team qualified for the playoff semi-final against Lyss in a commanding manner. Now the Brandis Ladies await head coach Daniela Diaz’s team. The women from Emmental won the series against Lausanne 2:0. They play their home games at the Brünnli ice rink in Hasle-Rüegsau. EVZ forward Vanessa Kleeb grew up not very far from there, in Huttwil.

She and her teammates are also clear favorites in the semi-final. The first game awaits them on Saturday in Zug’s BOSSARD Arena (kick-off at 2 p.m.), followed by the second in Hasle-Rüegsau on Sunday (7.30 p.m.). Despite the clear division of roles, Vanessa Kleeb is very much looking forward to it. “The playoffs are the best time. We realize that for ourselves, but also for our opponents. The games against Lyss were noticeably more intense than in the regular season.”

The 26-year-old from Baar recorded 4 goals and 4 assists in the quarter-finals. She describes the first game, which ended 27:1 in Zug’s favor, as one of the best of the season so far. “Also thanks to the support of the fans, who carried us,” she emphasizes. The aim is to build on this performance next weekend. After all, the EVZ wants to go straight to the SWHL B championship title. The team’s internal motto for the playoffs, “express train”, also alludes to this. The semi-final is merely a stopover.
