In just under 50 days, the Men’s and Women’s teams will play their first home matches at the OYM Hall. By then, the south stand of the arena will already be shining in all its new splendour.

Construction work in Zug is in full swing. In July, the roof was raised by 4.08 metres, with 520 tonnes of steel hoisted into place. Whilst the north side is now being sealed off (see first picture below) so that the OYM hall is closed and sealed by 23 October, significant progress is also evident on the south side of the building site.

The ‘67’ sports bar (pictures 2 and 3) has been moved to the ground floor and rebuilt to be much more spacious. The new EVZ Fan Store (picture 4) is also taking shape on the ground floor. EVZ fans can also look forward to the new dining options on the first floor. Construction of the ‘Tugium’ restaurant, which specialises in Zug specialities, and the covered outdoor terrace ‘Kolins Garden’ is nearing completion. Sportsbar 67, the Fan Store, Tugium and Kolins Garden will all be open for the reopening, which will coincide with the EVZ’s NL home match against Lausanne on 23 October. The next milestone in the ‘Keep Building’ project is therefore just around the corner.

Half-time for ‘Keep Building’

From 23 October up to and including 1 March, the OYM hall will once again be entirely dedicated to ice hockey. The EVZ men’s and women’s teams will play a total of 38 home matches over these 129 days. The south stand, featuring the Fan Store and the new catering facilities, will be open to match-goers throughout the 2026/27 season. However, ‘Keep Building’ is by no means taking a break. Construction continues on the north side – until the OYM hall is completely reopened in autumn 2027 with a new capacity of around 9,000 spectators.
