The 31-year-old defender extends his contract with Zug for another three years.
Dominik Schlumpf moved to Lake Zug from HC Lugano during the 2014/15 season in a swap with Alessio Bertaggia and Calle Andersson. Since then, the defensive defenseman has played 428 games in the National League and 41 games in the Champions Hockey League for EVZ. In the past eight years, the 183cm tall and 84kg defender has developed into a top performer and penalty-killing-specialist – in the 2021/22 season, he was on the ice the longest within the team in penalty-killing.
“It’s almost impossible to imagine our defense without Dominik,” says General Manager Reto Kläy. “With his defensive and physical qualities, he is an absolute performer. I’m pleased that we were able to extend his contract until 2026.”
