“Tomas is the ideal candidate for the vacant position of assistant coach,” says General Manager Reto Kläy about the 46-year-old. “He brings a lot of experience from various roles with the association and clubs.”
Montén started his coaching career in 2001 at the young age of 24 as Head Coach at the Junior Academy of Färjestad BK. After further stints at Mora, Djurgården, Timrå and Linköping, he moved to the Swedish Federation, where he worked as a coach and scout at both junior level and for the men’s national team.
Tomas Montén has been back in the club business since 2022 and is now taking on his first challenge outside of Sweden with EVZ. Together with Head Coach Dan Tangnes, Assistant Coach Michael Liniger and Goalie Coach Simon Pfister, he completes Zug’s coaching quartet.
