EVZ tests against Mannheim

On Friday evening, the EVZ will host the Adler from Mannheim.

After winning the 12th Lehner Cup last weekend, the EVZ will face Mannheim at home on Friday evening at 7.30 pm. Last season ended for the Adler in the quarterfinals after a seventh-place finish in qualifying.

Head coach Dallas Eakins’ team has undergone a complete upheaval this season: eight players had to leave the club, nine new signings were made, including two mercenaries from Switzerland with a Zug past: Tobias Fohrler (from Ambrì-Piotta, 2015-19 with EVZ) and Marc Michaelis, who only played at Lake Zug last season. The Mannheim native is therefore also aware of Zug’s strengths and is quoted on the Eagles’ website as follows: “Zug is a technically very skilled and fast team that likes to hold the glass. We will have to do a lot of defensive work, Zug will demand everything from us.”

Whether these insights will be enough for the Germans to inflict the first defeat of the pre-season on the EVZ will be shown on Friday in the BOSSARD Arena. Admission to the game is free.
