While defenseman Leon Muggli earned himself a permanent spot on the 1st team last season and was selected 52nd overall by the Washington Capitals in the NHL Draft this summer, forwards Robin Antenen and Loris Wey are part of the extended men’s team and started the season with the U20 Elite – and how!
Antenen has scored five goals and recorded the same number of assists in his nine appearances so far, while Wey has scored ten goals and recorded four assists in 14 games. After 17 rounds, the U20-Elit is clearly at the top of the table with 41 points.
The 18-year-olds Robin Antenen, Loris Wey and Leon Muggli are currently in the National League squad.
The impressive performances in the junior championship and the exemplary training ethic of the young athletes from the Hockey Academy prompted Head Coach Dan Tangnes to call up the two 18-year-olds to the first team after injuries in the squad. Robin Antenen made his season debut on October 1 in the game against EHC Kloten after first appearances last season. He has already made his mark in the 4th line alongside Sven Leuenberger and Nando Eggenberger.
Loris Wey also made his debut as the 13th forward last Wednesday against Ajoie. Just four days later, he made his next appearance in the National League on Saturday in Zurich – and scored his first goal in professional hockey!
