The EVZ is extending the contract with a true Zug native: Livio Stadler grew up in Steinhausen, took his first steps on the ice over 20 years ago in the Herti, completed The Hockey Academy training program and celebrated a Cup victory and two Swiss championship titles with the EVZ.
Livio Stadler signs a contract with his home club until 2028.
«As a Zug native, it is a special honor for me to continue to be on the ice for the EVZ. The contract extension is a matter close to my heart and I’m looking forward to celebrating three more years of success together with the team and our fans.»
Livio Stadler, Player EVZ
With the exception of a one-year detour to the far north to Luleå HF in the 2016/17 season, the defender played exclusively for the EVZ. Stadler made his debut in the National League in the 2015/16 season, followed by his first goal in an EVZ uniform on January 12, 2021.
«With Livio, a player who represents the values of the organization in an exemplary manner remains in the team. He also embodies our vision of promoting young talent from our own youth ranks and integrating them into the first team.»
Reto Kläy, General Manager EVZ
Stadler has been in the EVZ lineup 17 times this season, providing five assists on goals. On average, the 183 cm tall and 86 kg heavy defenseman is on the ice for 16 minutes and 35 seconds per game. With a plus-minus rating of +7, he is among the team’s top 3.
