EVZ extends with Wingerli until 2027

Forward Andreas Wingerli and the EVZ have agreed on a two-year contract extension.

The 27-year-old moved from the northern Swedish club Skellefteå AIK to EVZ in the summer of 2023 and will remain with Zug for the next two years. “I’m very happy to be able to continue playing for this great organization,” says Andreas Wingerli about staying in Central Switzerland.

«The support of the fans is unique and my family and I really like it in Zug.»

When asked about his goals with the EVZ, the forward says clearly: “Winning!” The Swede has yet to win a championship title, but he has reached the SHL final three times with his home club Skellefteå, as well as a silver medal at U20 level.

«Andreas impresses with his speed and aggressive forechecking. I’m delighted that he will continue to play in Zug for the next two years.»

In his first season with the EVZ, Wingerli scored eleven goals and nine assists in 49 regular-season games, adding three goals and five assists in eleven playoff games. In the current season, the nimble winger has already surpassed his previous year’s qualifying numbers after 34 games and has 21 points (10 goals/11 assists). He also has the team’s best plus-minus record at +19, second in the league.
