Fribourg-Gottéron vs EVZ

Tonight (January 28, 7:45 p.m.), the EVZ will face Fribourg-Gottéron away from home.

Since their away defeat against SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers to open the year on January 2, Zug have scored points in their last ten games: seven wins after 60 minutes, one victory after overtime, two defeats after overtime and the aforementioned zero in Rappi are on the EVZ’s 2025 record. Fribourg-Gottéron got off to a similarly good start to the new year, although the upward trend was preceded by a change of coach – Lars Leuenberger took over behind the boards of the Dragons on December 22 and immediately won the Spengler Cup with them. Fribourg have scored in every game under Leuenberger so far and have improved to 7th place in the table.

This will be Raphael Diaz’s first encounter with Zug since his return to the EVZ was announced at the beginning of January. Diaz is the defenseman with the most ice time on his team – 18:45 minutes – and has contributed three goals and four assists so far.

EVZ is still missing the injured defensemen Dominik Schlumpf, Livio Stadler and Elia Riva. Another regular defenseman, Tobias Geisser, is questionable.
