The 2026 summer training is in full swing

The EVZ Men’s Team has successfully started its 2026/27 season preparation.

After the season is before the season. The majority of the EVZ first team have started off-ice training at their home base at the OYM in Cham. The two foreigners Jan Kovar and Lukas Bengtsson are also at the OYM, while the remaining import players are currently preparing for the new season in their home countries.

Of the new arrivals, Mathieu Croce is already with the team. Eric Schneller, Chris Egli and Rico Gredig, who were involved in the playoff (semi-)finals with Genève-Servette and HC Davos respectively, will join the team in the coming days and weeks. Various national team players are also not yet on site. Leonardo Genoni and Dominik Kubalík are in the current World Championship squads of Switzerland and the Czech Republic; Tobias Geisser, Gregory Hofmann and Sven Senteler were also in action with the senior national team until last weekend.

At the end of the week, the players who are on site in Zug will also meet their new head coach Lauri Marjamäki for the first time.

Participation in the Dolomites and Lehner Cup

Meanwhile, the EVZ preparation programme is taking shape. Ice training will start on Monday, 3 August. The first test games have also been finalised. On the weekend of 22 and 23 August, the EVZ will take part in the Dolomites Cup in Neumarkt in South Tyrol. The first opponent on Saturday at 3.30 pm is Eisbären Berlin. On Sunday, the second game will be against the Augsburg Panthers or HC Kometa Brno.

A week later, the Lehner Cup takes place in Sursee. Further test match dates will follow in due course. The new National League season starts on Tuesday, 15 September and the fixture list will be published in June 2026.
