EVZ to be without Lukas Bengtsson for several months – Chris Egli is also out

EVZ defenceman Lukas Bengtsson suffered a fractured fibula in Sunday’s game against EHC Kloten and will be out for several months. Forward Chris Egli is also sidelined with a hand injury.

Lukas Bengtsson had to be stretchered off the ice in the 55th minute following a collision. He was subsequently transported to Zug Cantonal Hospital, where examinations revealed a fractured fibula. Bengtsson is scheduled to undergo surgery later today and will be unavailable to EVZ for the coming months. The exact timeline for his return to the ice will depend on the progress of his recovery.

Chris Egli will also continue to be unavailable to EVZ. The forward suffered a hand injury while blocking a shot during the game in Rapperswil on 29 September, which has now required surgery. Egli is expected to return to action no earlier than after the national team break in mid-November.
