The EVZ has terminated Nic Balestra’s contract, which was due to run until the end of the 2026/27 season, with effect from 7 October. Balestra took part in his final training session with the EVZ on Wednesday and is already in Bern. The defender had already signed for SCB in September, with his contract set to begin from the 2027/28 season.
With Nic Balestra, a home-grown EVZ player is taking the next step in his career. Balestra came through Zug’s ‘The Hockey Academy’ and made the leap from there into the first team. In the National League, he made 64 appearances, scoring one goal and providing five assists.
