EVZ is one win away from the semi-finals

The Women’s Team wins the first quarter-final match against Lyss 27:1.

The Zug Women’s Team can advance to the SWHL B playoff semi-finals on Sunday. In the first quarter-final game against Lyss, it fully lived up to its role as favourites and won 27:1 in front of 605 fans in the BOSSARD Arena.

Zug already led 8:0 after the first period, with Annic Büchi and Noemi Ryhner scoring a brace to seamlessly integrate into the team after their injury lay-off. Annika Fazokas was the third player to return to the EVZ team after a health absence. However, Lena-Marie Lutz, Zug’s second-highest scorer in qualifying, was still absent. Lara Stalder made it 10:0 in the 26th minute – just 21 seconds after Ivana Wey had made it 9:0. Ivana Wey scored the most points in the first quarter-final match with 13 (4 goals, 9 assists).

Game 2 continues in Lyss on Sunday, with puck drop at 11am. The Zug team has a rare chance to win a playoff series in just 20 hours. They are also hoping for the support of the fans in the Seelandhalle. If there were a deciding game, it would take place next Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the BOSSARD Arena. The playoff semi-final starts next Saturday.
