In addition to years of experience as a player in the top Swiss women’s league and as a 156-time international, 31-year-old Sandra Thalmann also has experience as a coach. Since her retirement in 2022, she has been on the sidelines at EHC Sursee in the SWHL B, where she has been Head Coach since last summer. The former defender will continue to hold this position alongside her 40% workload at EVZ.
Thalmann won the bronze medal with the Swiss national team at the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi – together with a certain Lara Stalder, who is now captain at EVZ.
EVZ has found what it was looking for in its search for an assistant coach for the Women’s Team: Former national player Sandra Thalmann joins the coaching staff around Head Coach Daniela Diaz.
«Sandra knows Swiss women’s ice hockey and is the perfect addition to our team. She stands for the same values as EVZ. We are very much looking forward to working with her.»
Daniela Diaz, Head Coach EVZ Women’s Team
