EVZ VS HC Ambrì-Piotta Girls

The Zug team will host the Ticino team on Friday (January 10, 8 p.m.) in a duel with the chasing pack. The following day, HC Fribourg-Gottéron will visit the BOSSARD Arena (5.30 p.m.).

EVZ is back on the road to success. Following victories in the top match against SC Bern in the Winter Classic and against the Neuchâtel Hockey Academy, the Zug team is in second place in the PostFinance Women’s League. Including the Cup round of 16 match against the ZSC Lions, the team has strung together four wins. “We’re on the right track,” says defender Nadine Hofstetter. She and her teammates have been particularly challenged recently because only twelve players were available due to numerous absences.

Naemi Herzig, Jael Manetsch and Lorena Wrann, who are taking part in the U18 World Championship in Finland, will also be missing in the upcoming championship matches. They will face Sweden with Switzerland in the quarter-finals on Thursday morning. At home, meanwhile, Zug will play against fourth-placed HC Ambrì-Piotta Girls (with the league’s third-best scorer Michaela Pejzlova) on Friday and against fifth-placed HC Fribourg-Gottéron (the league’s most penalized team) on Saturday. There is a desire for revenge against both opponents. The EVZ suffered their last defeat to date against the Ticino side at the beginning of December, and the French-speaking Swiss team have won two of their matches this season. No other team has managed that so far.
