Since the launch of the Women & Girls program and the Young Bulls girls’ field hockey school, Nadine Hofstetter has played a key role in the development of girls’ ice hockey in Zug and is on the ice with the youngest players every week. From the coming season, the defender will be responsible for a 20% workload as Development Coach of the girls’ program for the U12 level as well as for tournament planning and strategy for the U9 and U12. In addition, the defender from Central Switzerland will support the Young Bulls Girls’ base training sessions and the specific training units to promote talented players.
This newly created position, which was made possible thanks to the valuable support of the “Wings” patrons’ association, is part of a sustainable strategy to build up girls-only teams in all age groups over the next few years as part of the Women & Girls program. In this way, the EVZ aims to secure young talent for the Women’s Team in the long term.
EVZ is extending the contracts of Assistant Coach Sandra Thalmann, Goalie Coach Franzisca Ebener and Off-Ice Coach Marco Burch for the Women’s Team. Starting next season, EVZ player Nadine Hofstetter will also take over the newly created position of Development Coach Girls Program.

WOMEN’S TEAM COACHES STAY
With the contract extensions of the coaching staff of the women’s team, EVZ is also relying on continuity at the highest women’s level. Assistant coach Sandra Thalmann, who joined the Zug team last summer, is extending her contract for another year until 2026, as are goalie coach Franzisca Ebener and off-ice coach Marco Burch. All coaches are employed by EVZ on a 40% basis.
