In the first home game, EVZ put in a strong performance and won 2:0. Goalkeeper Eveliina Mäkinen kept a clean sheet and was a key to success with her confident performance. The Zug team also held their nerve in the second game in Davos and, after a difficult second period, really turned up the heat in the final period. All six goals were scored in the final period, and with a clear 6:1 victory they impressively demonstrated their playoff mentality and their absolute determination to reach the final round.
The third game of the semi-final series between EVZ and HC Davos Ladies is scheduled for Saturday evening (March 15, 5:30 p.m.). With a win, Zug could clinch a place in the final and decide the series 3-0.
The Zug women now have the “match puck” in their hands on Saturday. A win would secure their place in the final and end the series with a 3:0 sweep. But the HC Davos Ladies will not give up without a fight and will try to extend the series. The EVZ must continue to play with maximum intensity and bring their playoff mentality to the point in order to end the series.
Thanks to Zuger Kantonalbank, admission is free for everyone on March 15! As general sponsor of the Women’s Team, ZugerKB is actively committed to promoting the Women & Girls program and supports the team on its way to success. As special guest, EVZ legend Fabian “Schnitz” Schnyder will open the game with a ceremonial puck drop.
