EVZ Women’s Team travelling to Sweden in August

The preparation programme is set: this is how the EVZ Women’s Team will start the 2026/27 season.

The highlight of this year’s 2026/27 pre-season for the EVZ Women’s Team will take place at the end of August: from 26 to 30 August, the Zug women will travel to Karlstad in Sweden for a training camp. As part of the camp, the Zug women will take part in the “Karlstad Puck Drop” – a preparatory tournament organised by Färjestad BK, a partner club of EVZ, for the first time this summer. In addition to Färjestad BK, the women’s team will also face the current Swedish champions Brynäs IF at the “Karlstad Puck Drop”.

The Zug women’s match schedule in Sweden is as follows:

Friday, 28 August 6 p.m.: EVZ – Färjestad BK

Saturday, 29 August 3 p.m.: EVZ – Brynäs IF

Before and after the “Karlstad Puck Drop”, the EVZ Women’s Team has arranged two more test matches against top international teams. On 15 August at 7 p.m. in Davos, the Zug women will face the Swedish runners-up Frölunda HC, who are in Davos for a training camp lasting several days in mid-August. Finally, on 5 September at 5.15 pm, they will play a test against the current German champions ECDC Memmingen Indians away in Memmingen.

The 2026/27 season opener in the PostFinance Women’s League will take place on the weekend of 12/13 September. EVZ will communicate the exact fixture list as soon as it has been finalised. One thing is clear: Due to the construction work in the OYM hall, the women’s team – like the men’s team – will not play its first home game until the end of October at the earliest.
