Eggli and Waser are out; Christmann has been awarded a B licence

Forwards Chiara Eggli and Luisa Waser are due to undergo surgery. The EVZ Women’s Team has responded by securing a B licence for Valérie Christmann from their partner team, EHC Sursee.

Chiara Eggli sustained a shoulder injury during the match against HC Davos on Sunday 13 September. Further examinations at Zug Cantonal Hospital have revealed that an operation is necessary. The 20-year-old is expected to be sidelined for four months and will not return to the ice until the new year.

Luisa Waser is also due to undergo surgery on Tuesday 22 September for health reasons. The 26-year-old has been diagnosed with a tumour in her neck, which needs to be surgically removed. Waser will still be in action this weekend against Fribourg-Gottéron and Lausanne, but will then be out of action for the EVZ for four to six weeks.

Due to these two long-term absences, the EVZ has signed 22-year-old Valérie Christmann from partner club EHC Sursee on a B-licence. Christmann was under contract with HC Ambrì-Piotta for the last two seasons and joined Sursee in the SWHL-B following the team’s disbandment in the summer.
