The 2025/26 championship banner has been hoisted under the hall roof

To mark the start of the new home season, the EVZ Women’s Team, together with the 1,708 fans in attendance, looked back once again on the historic successes of the 2025/26 season. The highlight of the pre-match celebrations was the raising of the championship banner, which will now hang beneath the stadium roof in the OYM hall as a reminder of the first Swiss championship title won by the EVZ Women’s Team, founded in 2023.

On 25 March 2026, the Zug women were crowned Swiss champions for the first time in front of 3,824 fans at the OYM hall. With a 6–3 victory over SC Bern, the team clinched the final series 3–0. Ivana Wey scored a hat-trick in the decisive match, Rahel Enzler netted twice and Alina Marti scored a power-play goal.

The championship title capped off an outstanding season: the EVZ Women’s Team had already won the 2025/26 Women’s National Cup, successfully defending their cup title from the previous year. The team thus achieved the double in just their third season since being re-established.

The ceremony also served as a reminder that today’s EVZ Women’s Team is not the first chapter in the history of women’s ice hockey in Zug. A championship banner honouring previous EVZ champions (1998, 1999, 2004, 2005). Former players were therefore also invited to this special occasion and watched the celebrations from the Dine & View terrace.

Thus, the raising of the banner served not only to honour the 2025/26 championship team, but also to forge a link between different generations of women’s ice hockey at EVZ.

With the championship banner, the historic 2025/26 season now has its permanent place in the OYM hall. Fans can also purchase the banner as a pennant from the EVZ STORE.

The memory of the double will thus remain visible beneath the arena roof. On the sporting front, however, attention has long since turned back to the future: to the current season and the next goals of the EVZ Women’s Team, which aims to repeat the double in 2027.
