Women’s Team: Medical Update, 25 September

The Medical Report for Friday, 25 September.

 

Noemi Ryhner, week-to-week. Ryhner fractured her fibula in the Cup final at the end of January. Following complications and an infection resulting from the operation, the 26-year-old is continuing to work towards her comeback.

 

Joy Roulet, week-to-week. The NXT athlete suffered a concussion during pre-season training. Her condition is being reassessed on a week-by-week basis.

 

Annic Büchi, week-to-week. The defender injured her knee in the summer. Decisions regarding Büchi’s return to the line-up are being made on a week-to-week basis. She has had to decline selection for the national team next week.

 

Alina Marti, week-to-week. Marti is also still recovering from a concussion and is listed as week-to-week in the medical report. The forward also had to withdraw from the national team.

 

Annika Fazokas, week-to-week. The Austrian is also suffering from the after-effects of a concussion. Her condition is reassessed on a weekly basis.

 

Chiara Eggli, 4 to 6 months. Eggli sustained a shoulder injury on 13 September in the match against Davos. The forward is due to undergo surgery on 28 September and will be sidelined for 4 to 6 months.

 

Sini Karjalainen, 9 to 12 months. The Finnish player suffered a serious knee injury in her third match for EVZ. Following cruciate ligament surgery, she will be out for 9 to 12 months.

 

Luisa Waser, week-to-week. Waser had a benign tumour removed from her neck on 22 September. The operation went well and the forward is expected to return to training in a few weeks.
