National team for the 2026 Olympic Games

National coaches Patrick Fischer (men) and Colin Muller (women) have announced their squads for the 2026 Olympic Games in Milano Cortina. The following EVZ players will be part of the Swiss national team: Leonardo Genoni, Lara Stalder, Rahel Enzler, Alina Marti, Noemi Ryhner and Ivana Wey. Dominik Kubalík and Noemi Neubauerová are in action for the Czech team.

The line-up of the Swiss men’s national team for the Olympic Games from 6 to 22 February 2026 in Milano Cortina has been announced. For the first time since 2014 and for the sixth time in total, NHL players will be competing on the Olympic stage.

 

The 25 Swiss national team players nominated have a combined total of 1759 international appearances and 13 Olympic appearances to their name. The frontrunners are the two goalkeepers Reto Berra (2014, 2022) and Leonardo Genoni (2018, 2022), who will be making their third Olympic appearance. Also taking part are defencemen Michael Fora, Roman Josi and Christian Marti, as well as forwards Sven Andrighetto, Christoph Bertschy, Denis Malgin, Nino Niederreiter, Pius Suter and Calvin Thürkauf, for whom this is their second Olympic appearance. With goalie Akira Schmid, defencemen Tim Berni, Andrea Glauser, Dean Kukan, Janis Moser and Jonas Siegenthaler as well as attacking players Kevin Fiala, Nico Hischier, Ken Jäger, Simon Knak, Philipp Kurashev, Timo Meier, Damien Riat and Sandro Schmid, a total of 14 players will be celebrating their Olympic debut in Italy. 20 players from the World Championship silver medallists from Herning and Stockholm 2025 are back in the squad and bring valuable experience with them.

Women’s national team at full strength

Alina Müller and captain Lara Stalder are among the most experienced Olympians in head coach Colin Muller’s squad. Following their bronze medal in Sochi 2014 and their participation in 2018 in Pyeongchang (5th place) and 2022 in Beijing (4th place), they will be competing in their fourth Olympic Games in Milano Cortina.

 

Goalkeeper Andrea Brändli and defencemen Shannon Sigrist and Stefanie Wetli are in an Olympic squad for the third time. Saskia Maurer, Lara Christen, Nicole Vallario, Rahel Enzler, Sinja Leemann, Lena-Marie Lutz, Alina Marti, Kaleigh Quennec, Noemi Ryhner and Laura Zimmermann are taking part in the Olympic Games for the second time. Goalkeeper Monja Wagner, defencemen Alessia Baechler, Annic Büchi and Laure Mériguet and forwards Leoni Balzer, Naemi Herzig, Vanessa Schaefer and Ivana Wey will be making their Olympic debut.

 

Colin Muller had the following to say about the squad: “We have a very balanced team with a lot of international experience and a strong mix of routine and dynamism. Many of the players are familiar with the demands at Olympic level and know what it takes to succeed on this stage. Our focus is on playing together as a team and showing our best hockey in every game.”

More Zug players at the Olympic Games

Dominik Kubalik and Noemi Neubauerova have also made it into their respective Czech national teams and will be competing for medals in Milan in February. The Slovakian association has not yet officially announced its squad, but Tomas Tatar was one of five players who were already selected for the Olympic Games in the summer.
