Two home games within 21 hours

The leaders will face SC Langenthal Women at the OYM Hall on Saturday (5:30 p.m.) and HC Fribourg-Gottéron on Sunday (2:30 p.m.).

Fully charged for the next successes: The Zug women had Thursday off from training to clear their heads. “The preparation was tough, but the team implemented the guidelines very well in the first phase of the season,” praises head coach Daniela Diaz. She and the staff know that regeneration is important for the players – and not just for their legs: “Over the last few days, they’ve had the opportunity to process everything we discussed,” explains Daniela Diaz.

This included analyzing their success so far. And it’s been huge: after six games, EVZ is at the top of the PostFinance Women’s League with maximum points and a goal difference of 38:7. The Zug women won their most recent game against second-placed HC Ambrì-Piotta by a score of 8:1. The staff and the team do not want to take these performances for granted. “We operate according to the motto ‘Holding each other accountable’. This means we reflect and sensitize each other, including on what we can do even better.”

This coming weekend, the Zug women will play twice in front of their loyal home crowd at the OYM hall: on Saturday against SC Langenthal Women (starting at 5:30 p.m.) and on Sunday against HC Fribourg-Gottéron (2:30 p.m.). The Oberaargau team is at the bottom of the table without any points – an EVZ victory is widely expected. Daniela Diaz has no trouble motivating her team for this task: “The results in the games are the outcome of long-term work. Accordingly, every performance is not only immediately important, but also for our future development.” HCFG is in fifth place in the table – as is newly signed forward Ann-Frédérique Guay (9 points) in the league-wide scoring list. The top three places are occupied by Zug players: Rahel Enzler (16) ahead of Lara Stalder (15) and new signing Alina Marti (11).
