Second home game in three days

After Tuesday’s 4:2 home win against Bern, the EVZ is aiming for the same feat against Genève-Servette. The Geneva team will be the guests at the OYM hall on Thursday.

After three consecutive defeats in the National League, Zug defeated SC Bern on Tuesday evening and returned to winning ways. Thanks to a strong first period and a brilliant Gregory Hofmann, the EVZ took a 3:0 lead by the middle of the game. Daniel Vozenilek calmed Zug’s nerves with an empty netter shortly before the end and ensured that the three points remained in the OYM hall.

This scenario is set to repeat itself on Thursday. Because only 48 hours after the victory over SCB, the next opponent, Genève-Servette, will visit the EVZ. Geneva can also look back on a successful Tuesday evening. Away in Fribourg, they turned an interim 0:2 into a 5:2 victory and thus cemented their place in the chasing pack behind leaders Davos.

In the two previous head-to-head meetings, the away team always came out on top. Zug celebrated an important 1:0 win at Les Vernets at the end of October in their last game before the national team break thanks to an outstanding Leonardo Genoni, but were beaten 1:4 at home by the same opponents at the beginning of October.

The first home win against Genève-Servette is therefore due. If it succeeds, the 9-point week could even be launched. Because on Saturday, the EVZ travels to bottom-of-the-table Ajoie.
