Away games in Zurich and Neuchâtel

The EVZ Women’s Team will play two away games in the PostFinance Women’s League this week at the ZSC Lions (Thursday) and the Neuchâtel Hockey Academy (Saturday).

The regular season in the PostFinance Women’s League enters its final quarter in December and thus the decisive phase. As the current league leaders, EVZ is fully on course to qualify directly for the play-off semi-finals.

The Zug team may be able to secure a definitive semi-final ticket as early as this week. However, this also depends on the outcome of the games between SC Bern (3rd place) and Fribourg-Gottéron (4th place).

But it’s far too early to be playing maths. The EVZ Women’s Team would much rather concentrate on their own tasks, as they have two away games on the programme this week. It starts on Thursday evening at 8.15 pm at the ZSC Lions (live on RED+). A home defeat against Fribourg-Gottéron, but then a coup in the Cup with a victory over SC Bern in the round of 16 – the 2025/26 season is like an up-and-down one for the Zurich team, currently ranked fifth in the PFWL. EVZ won their only clash of the season so far 2:0.

Two days later, Zug will travel to Lake Neuchâtel. On Saturday at 5.45 pm in the Patinoire du Littoral, they will face Neuchâtel Hockey Academy for the fourth time this season. The three previous games have been clear-cut affairs, with the EVZ women winning 7:1, 12:0 and 7:0 respectively, meaning Daniela Diaz’s team go into the game against the PFWL bottom of the table as clear favourites.

The draw in the Cup also means that the two teams will face each other a fifth time in the Cup quarter-finals on 20 December.
