Off to Emmental before the national team break

The EVZ will face the SCL Tigers in their last game before the national team break on Friday.

Zug are the only Swiss team still competing in this year’s Champions Hockey League. However, they lost the quarter-final first leg on Tuesday away to Finnish representative Lukko Rauma 1:3. But not much has happened yet. EVZ has the chance to turn things around on Tuesday, 16 December at home in the OYM Hall.

Before that, however, things get serious once again in the National League. On Friday, Michael Liniger’s team will face the SCL Tigers away from home. And the Zug team still has two scores to settle with the Emmental side this season. Both previous encounters have ended in favour of the Tigers. However, the affairs were always hard-fought: at home in the OYM hall, the EVZ only lost after overtime, while away in Emmental, the game-winner from Tiger Dario Allenspach only came in the 55th minute.

Zug, on the other hand, want to confirm their upward trend in the league. EVZ have picked up seven points from their last three games. On Friday, they aim to add to their points tally in the last game before the national team break.

The game at the SCL Tigers remains Zug’s only outing of the weekend. The EVZ “monster” programme begins immediately after the national team break.Between December 16 and 20, Zug will play four times in five days.
