Aiming for direct qualification for the final

If the EVZ Women’s Team also wins Game 3 in the playoff semi-final, it will qualify for the final of the PostFinance Women’s League on Tuesday evening.

It was a wake-up call at the right time in this second period on Sunday afternoon in the BCF Arena.

Anyone who thought the Zug team would march through after a commanding opening period and a 2:0 lead was mistaken. The Fribourg-Gottéron Ladies first cancelled out this 0:2 deficit and then also EVZ’s interim 3:2 lead. However, the Zug team proved that, in their current form, they are not fazed by setbacks. They came out of the dressing room like a fire engine in the final period, with Noemi Neubauerova putting them back in front 4:3 after just 18 seconds to take a 2:0 lead in the semi-final series. Lara Stalder one day later: “A really cool goal!”

GAME 3 IN THE OYM HALL

This also means that the EVZ can seal the deal on Tuesday evening. If they defeat Fribourg again in their third duel in five days, they will qualify for the final early. Tickets for the next Zug highlight in the women’s Icecoeky are available via the link below.

There are many indications that SC Bern will then be waiting for Daniela Diaz’s team from 21 March. The Bernese also lead their semi-final series against Ambrì 2-0 and have yet to concede a goal in two games. It would be a rematch of last year’s final – with which the Zug team still has a score to settle.
