It’s been a long time since the last appearance in the Cornèr Arena. In the 2nd round of the National League on 12 September 2025, EVZ took on Lugano and won 2:1 thanks to goals from Tomas Tatar and Gregory Hofmann, ensuring a perfect start to the season and six points from two games.

A lot has happened since then. 49 more rounds have been played in the National League. EVZ will finish this regular season in 8th place, while Lugano is firmly in the playoffs. However, the Bianconeri do not yet know their opponents. Genève-Servette, the ZSC Lions and Lausanne HC are all possible opponents.

Who it will be depends on the outcome of the game against EVZ on Monday evening. However, coach Benoît Groulx will focus on his own performance as usual. The aim is to be ideally prepared for the two play-in games against the SCRJ Lakers on Thursday and Saturday. An away win in Ticino could certainly help.
