The Zug City Council has decided that Blueline Catering & Events, a subsidiary of EVZ Gastro AG, will be awarded the contract for catering services at the expanded Zug lido. The opening of the expanded and renovated lido is scheduled to coincide with the 2026 bathing season. The expansion will double the lawn area, creating more space for recreation and activities, which is likely to lead to a significant increase in visitors on peak days.
Blueline Catering & Events will operate a self-service restaurant in the new extension and the renovated kiosk, both of which will be fully developed by the city of Zug and handed over ready for occupancy. Out of nine applications, Blueline Catering & Events impressed with an innovative concept that focuses on regional products, family-friendly prices, and digital ordering systems. The company has extensive experience in the event and leisure sector and attaches particular importance to sustainability, including through the use of reusable tableware and food waste monitoring.
City Councilor Urs Raschle emphasized the importance of the partnership: «With Blueline Catering & Events, the expanded Zug lido gains a professional and locally based partner that will make optimal use of the new catering opportunities. Preparations for the 2026 season are in full swing to offer visitors to Lake Zug enjoyable and sustainable experiences. The city council’s decision marks an important step in the modernization of the Zug lido, which will not only offer more space and comfort, but also a diverse gastronomic experience.»
