The EVZ appoints 39-year-old Dan Tangnes as the EVZ’s new head coach. The Norwegian by birth signs a two-year contract.
With Dan Tangnes, the EVZ has found a young and dynamic trainer to implement the chosen strategy as an ambitious training club. For the last three seasons, Tangnes has served as head coach of the Swedish team HC Linköping and has done outstanding work in promoting young players.
The installation and promotion of young athletes in the NL team will be of great importance for the EVZ in the coming years. The EVZ aims to establish itself as a training club at the top in the long term and to become the best training centre in Swiss ice hockey. To this end, the EVZ has invested a great deal in recent years with the training concept The Hockey Academy and the establishment of its own Swiss League farm team, the EVZ Academy. Thus, the necessary foundation has been laid to produce the cadre of the own NL team from within the own ranks in the future. For Patrick Lengwiler, CEO of the EVZ, they found the right head coach in Dan Tangnes: “Dan Tangnes convinced us in the negotiations. He has worked with young athletes in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Together we will make the EVZ the best training centre in Switzerland in the coming years and play successful ice hockey”.
Dan Tangnes, born in Oslo, worked in Sweden for about ten years for the two organisations of Linköping and Rögle. The new head coach is looking forward to the challenge at the EVZ: “I have gained a very good impression of the EVZ organisation, they have a clear objective and are pursuing it consistently. I look forward to playing my part in a successful EVZ.”
Together with the new head coach, a decision will be made about the coaching staff in the coming weeks.
Zusammen mit dem neuen Headcoach wird in den kommenden Wochen über den Coaching Staff befunden.
