Hollenstein extends his contract with EVZ, which expires at the end of the season, until 2024.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper is now playing his 7th season with the EVZ, after moving from his youth club Chur to Zug in the 2015/16 season and starting his training at the “Hockey Academy”, which he completed in the summer of 2020. Already in 2017/18 Hollenstein made his first appearances in the Swiss League team, only two years later at the age of 19 also in the 1st team. In a total of 30 National League games, he has an average catch rate of 91.8% and has already celebrated a shutout.
“We are proud that, in addition to the best Swiss goalkeeper of recent years, we now also have one of the most promising young talents at EVZ until 2024,” says General Manager Reto Kläy on the contract extension. “Leonardo Genoni and Luca Hollenstein form an incredibly strong goalkeeping duo.”
Luca Hollenstein is also looking forward to the two more years in Zug: “The mutual trust is huge – the organization is counting on me and I see the best development opportunities for me personally at the EVZ with the OYM and the lived strategy.”
