Bengtsson out for several weeks

EVZ will be without defenseman Lukas Bengtsson for several weeks.

Lukas Bengtsson suffered an injury last Tuesday, February 25, in the game against Genève-Servette HC. Further examinations at Zug’s cantonal hospital have shown that the offensive defenseman will be out for several weeks. The Swede has scored seven goals and set up 17 in 40 games so far this season. No EVZ player is on the ice longer per game than Bengtsson – he averages 22:07 minutes of action.

Due to various injury and illness-related absences, the EVZ will face EHC Kloten on Thursday evening, February 27, with six U20 defensemen: Luc Bachmann (19), Nic Balestra (19), Mischa Geisser (19), Ludvig Johnson (18), Leon Muggli (18) and Dorian Moret (17), who will make his National League debut, are in the lineup. All six are completing The Hockey Academy training program. The Zug defense is completed by Niklas Hansson (30). This means that the EVZ will line up in Kloten with an average 20-year-old defense.
