After two playoff games, the EVZ trails HCD 0:2 in wins and 2:7 in goals. There has been little sign of the best offense of the regular season in the playoffs so far – symbolized by the two goals scored by 19-year-old forward Colin Lindemann and defenseman Elia Riva. Captain Lino Martschini said: “There’s nothing to gloss over today. A few things need to be addressed after this game. But the series is not over yet, we have to show a reaction on Tuesday.”
Sunday was also not a great evening for the many fans who had traveled to Landwasser Valley. “The fans come to Davos in droves and then we put in a performance like this,” said Sven Leuenberger after the game.
On Tuesday evening (March 18, 8:00 p.m.), a reaction is imperative in game 3 of the quarter-finals.
To make matters worse, defenseman Niklas Hansson was injured in the middle third and had to leave the game early. Nevertheless, EVZ’s injury list should be somewhat shorter for Round 3: Mike Künzle and Dominik Schlumpf could make their first playoff appearance of the season at home.
In front of an almost sold-out crowd – the last individual tickets are available in the ticket store and on the marketplace – the team of Head Coach Dan Tangnes wants to “stand together and make up ground in the series with a focused team performance”.
