On Friday, August 15, the EVZ will kick off its preseason with the first game of the Lehner Cup against Motor Ceske Budejovice in Sursee. The following day, head coach Michael Liniger’s team will host EHC Red Bull Munich at the OYM hall, also as part of the Lehner Cup.
Defenseman Dominik Schlumpf is recovering from injury and will not be playing this weekend, but will travel with the team to the training camp in Zell am See on Monday, where the Red Bulls Salute will take place on August 22 and 23.
Captain Jan Kovar is also not yet fit to play. The center is suffering from a lower-body injury and is not expected to be able to start the new season before the end of September.
The EVZ will start its preseason training on August 15 – initially without Dominik Schlumpf and Jan Kovar.
