David Sklenička joined EVZ in the summer after completing his first season in the National League (NL) with Lausanne HC. He has played in 17 championship games and six Champions Hockey League (CHL) games for Zug so far. In mid-September, the 29-year-old scored the first hattrick of his career against Fribourg-Gottéron. He has also scored one goal each in the NL and the CHL, but the two-way defenseman’s strengths lie primarily in his assists (10 in total). With an average of 23:22 minutes, Sklenička also has the most ice time at Zug.
The Czech defenseman has signed a contract extension with EVZ for the next two seasons.
General Manager Reto Kläy is delighted that the Czech player will continue to wear the EVZ jersey for the next two seasons: «He impresses with his vision and playmaking skills. In addition to his defensive stability, he also knows how to get involved in the offense.»
