Thursday, June 26, 2025, was a memorable day for The Hockey Academy, which proudly honored its latest graduates. In a festive ceremony, not only were diplomas awarded, but the academy’s tenth anniversary was also celebrated in style. It was a celebration of the achievements and successes that the academy has produced over the past decade.
We congratulate the graduates of The Hockey Academy on their successful completion of the program!
«The Hockey Academy has established itself as a unique concept that focuses on sport without neglecting education,» said Benno Sidler, Managing Director of OYM College, who highlighted the Academy’s important role in promoting young talent.
Particularly noteworthy is the extremely successful final year, in which all eight athletes who began their training at the Academy successfully completed their training and are now ready to launch their careers in professional ice hockey. These promising talents, including defenders Nic Balestra and Mischa Geisser and forwards Robin Antenen and Loris Wey, have signed professional contracts with EVZ. Ludvig Johnson will continue his career at Fribourg HC, while Nils Wehrli is moving to Bellinzona. Kevin Haas has joined HC Thurgau and Luc Bachmann will play for HC Ambri Piotta.
The celebrations were not only an opportunity to celebrate, but also a recognition of the hard work and dedication of the graduates and the Hockey Academy team. Looking ahead, the future promises further exciting developments and successes for these up-and-coming sporting talents.
