Following the second Prospects Challenge last summer, Roli Schmid, OC President and Head of The Hockey Academy, drew a thoroughly positive conclusion: “We were able to enjoy great, top-class ice hockey at the highest junior level. The spectators provided a worthy backdrop for the young players and with IFK Helsinki we had a deserving winner of the tournament!” The Finns defended their title in a repeat of last year’s final against Rögle.
However, it is already clear that there will definitely be a new champion this year. In the third edition of the Prospects Challenge, the Finnish representative will be Tappara Tampere. The newcomers will face Red Bull Salzburg (AUT), HC Bílí Tygři Liberec (CZE), Rögle BK (SWE), the ZSC Lions (SUI) and the hosts EVZ, who took third place in 2024, at the international tournament in the OYM hall.
The Prospects Challenge will be played in two groups of three teams each, followed by the classification games for places 1 to 6 based on the group rankings. With one exception (Academy Arena), all games will take place in the OYM hall.
Admission to all games is free!
The “EVZ Prospects Challenge” will take place for the 3rd time from August 13 to 17, 2025. Top-class teams from all over Europe will compete for the title at the international U20 tournament.
