EVZ set for final

The Zug team’s first game is against Brandis Ladies on Saturday (2 p.m. BOSSARD Arena).

Last Saturday, the women of EVZ impressed in front of their own fans with a 19:0 win against the Brandis Ladies, even if, according to forward Elena Gaberell, there wasn’t enough intensity on the Zug side, especially in the first period. “We can do better, we’ve set our sights higher and have to play 60 minutes of ice hockey on Sunday,” said the Ticino native after the game.

In the second semi-final game in Hasle-Rüegsau, Zug got off to a false start and trailed for 101 seconds for the first time in the club’s history, but then turned the physical game around in their usual manner. “I’m incredibly proud of the team for the way they took on this challenge,” said Head Coach Daniela Diaz after reaching the final. “There was a lot of emotion in the game, these are the playoffs!”

It is not yet clear who awaits EVZ in the final. The series between EHC Bassersdorf Ladies and EHC Zunzgen-Sissach is tied 1-1. The decisive third game will take place on Thursday in the stimo arena training hall in Kloten.
