National Cup 1/8 Final

On Wednesday, December 18, at 7:30 pm, the EVZ Women’s Team will play a decisive game in the National Cup: They will face the ZSC Lions women in the 1/8 final. After their impressive run to last year’s final, where they were only narrowly beaten by SC Bern Women, they will be looking to build on last year’s success. 

However, the opening game could hardly be more challenging. The reigning Swiss champions of the PFWL, the ZSC Lions women, are the opponents. But despite the strong opponent, the starting position is promising: the Zurich team is currently in 6th place in the PFWL table, while EVZ is in 3rd place. In direct comparisons, the EVZ Women’s Team has the edge this season: two of the three encounters have gone to Zug, with a goal difference of 11:4.

The quarter-finals will be played between January 4 and 19, 2025. The winners will qualify for the Women’s National Cup Final-4 on January 25/26, 2025 at the Vaudoise aréna in Lausanne. The match for third place will also be played.
