After last spring, the Zug team wants to play for the Cup again. The hurdle in the round of 16 is the ZSC Lions. The league rivals will visit the BOSSARD Arena on Wednesday. The EVZ won the first encounter in the PostFinance Women’s League at this venue 6:0. It is also the meeting of Switzerland’s current top scorers: Rahel Enzler (30 points) and Lara Stalder (26) for Zug, Sinja Leemann (25) for Zurich.
Sinja Leemann played alongside Zug’s Lena-Marie Lutz at the EHT tournament for national teams in Finland last weekend. The Swiss team – also featuring Annic Büchi and Rahel Enzler from EVZ – lost all their games (2:6 against the USA, 0:4 against Finland and 0:2 and 0:3 against the Czech Republic). Lena-Marie Lutz scored one of the two goals, following an assist from Sinja Leemann.
The third forward in this line was Kaleigh Quennec from SC Bern. She and her team will be guests at the BOSSARD Arena on Thursday. The PostFinance Women’s League leaders currently have an eight-point lead over third-placed EVZ. Coach Daniela Diaz and her team will do everything in their power to close the gap. Zug have won their first two matches of the current season: 5:2 in front of their home crowd and 2:0 in the Swiss capital.
The EVZ will host the ZSC Lions in the Cup round of 16 at the BOSSARD Arena on Wednesday (December 18, 7:30 p.m.). The following day, SC Bern travels to the top match of the PostFinance Women’s League (December 19, 7.30 p.m.).
Admission to the Cup round of 16 against the ZSC Lions is free. Those who would like to enjoy the game over a delicious dinner with the best view can benefit from an exclusive offer on the Dine & View terrace.
On Thursday, spectators at the BOSSARD Arena can look forward to an Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest – get your best (ugly) Christmas sweater out of the closet and win a meet & greet with an EVZ player!
