Manetsch, Pfosi and Wey extend their contracts with EVZ

Jael Manetsch and Chiara Pfosi sign a two-year contract extension with the EVZ Women’s Team. Ivana Wey will also remain in Zug for another year before moving to North America.

The EVZ was able to sign three contract extensions: National team forward Ivana Wey will continue to play for the EVZ next season, before moving on to play for Northeastern University in the NCAA starting in the 2026-27 season.

«Thanks to the semi-professional conditions at EVZ, Ivana can prepare herself in the best possible way for her next career step in North America. We are delighted that we have been able to re-sign Ivana for next season.»

Head Coach Daniela Diaz on Ivana Wey’s next step

Wey, who turned 19 on Tuesday, February 4, has recorded more than one point per game with the EVZ Women’s Team this season (22 games, 13 goals, 10 assists).

Young talent Jael Manetsch will also remain with the EVZ. The 17-year-old has signed a contract until 2027. In January of this year, the forward was the top scorer in the Swiss team at the U18 World Championship. In order to get as much playing time as possible and develop further, Manetsch also played seven games for the partner team Sursee in the SWHL-B this season, in which she scored six goals and five assists.

«Jael has benefited greatly from taking on a different role at Sursee and has grown as a player and a person this season.»

Daniela Diaz on the progress made by Jael Manetsch

Goalkeeper Chiara Pfosi has also extended her contract by two years. The 26-year-old has already recorded two shutouts in eleven championship games to date and allows an average of less than two goals per game.

«She has accepted the new challenge in the PostFinance Women’s League in the best possible way and has once again made great progress since the summer.»

Daniela Diaz is convinced of Chiara Pfosi’s development

The EVZ Women’s Team still has four games to play in the PFWL. They are currently in 2nd place in the table, which would entitle them to a direct semi-final appearance. With one game less, they are four points off leaders Bern and three points ahead of HC Davos (both 24 games). In addition to the direct duel with Davos, two games against Langenthal and an away game against Fribourg are on the program.
