In the third game against HC Davos Ladies, EVZ was once again able to rely on its special teams. The 1:0 and 2:2 goals by Annika Fazokas and Ivana Wey respectively were scored on the power play. And for the 3:2, Ivana Wey intercepted a pass while short-handed and scored with ice-cold precision after her solo run. The majority of the record Swiss crowd of 4,136 fans in the BOSSARD Arena celebrated the turnaround. But the Grisons came back again. Lucienne Tenenbaum made it 3:3 with her first playoff goal. Elizabeth Lang had made it 2:1 for the visitors in the meantime. The league’s top scorer in the regular season was also the only Davos player to score in the penalty shootout. On the other side, a defender was the only player to score twice: Annika Fazokas led her team – with goalie Eveliina Mäkinen – to victory and into the final. EVZ had won the first two encounters in the semi-final series 2-0 and 6-1.

OVERWHELMING ATMOSPHERE: ANNIKA FAZOKAS REFLECTS ON THE KEY TO VICTORY
Match winner Annika Fazokas says the key to the success: «We remained patient throughout the series and always focused on the moment.» What’s more, the atmosphere at the third match was overwhelming. «It was incredibly nice to play in front of so many spectators. It felt like we had the whole of Zug behind us.» Team-mate Vanessa Ryhner added: «The word ‘rollercoaster’ describes the series very well. We fought until the last second on Saturday and showed what teamwork can achieve.» The forward is proud of the team’s performance and development. Rahel Enzler, EVZ’s top scorer of the regular season, also emphasized the team’s collective effort, patience and the support of the fans in her analysis.
IVANA WEY SHINES WITH FOUR GOALS – STALDER AND FAZOKAS TOP THE SCORERS’ LIST
Ivana Wey scored a total of four times in the three matches, more than any other player in the playoffs so far. She talks about a tight semi-final series against a tough opponent. «We knew they would fight until the last second – and that proved to be the case.» She is now sixth in the scoring charts. Her teammates occupy the top two places: Lara Stalder has 7 points (1 goal, 6 assists) ahead of Annika Fazokas with 5 (3 goals, 2 assists).
AFTER TWO TITLES, NOW THE CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY? ZUGER WOMEN START THE FINAL
The Zug women have made it to the final in the fastest possible way. From Saturday, March 22, they will play SC Bern for the Swiss championship title. The first game in the BOSSARD Arena will take place on Sunday, March 23. The kick-off times will be announced at the beginning of the week. This series will also be played in best-of-five mode. That means: Three wins are still needed to win the third title of the season – after winning the EWHL Euro Cup and the Swiss Cup. «Now we have to gather all our strength again to prepare for the final in the best possible way,» says Ivana Wey. And striker Rahel Enzler adds combatively: «The success in the series against Davos and especially on Saturday was nice – but there’s more to come!»
