Pre-season game against ZSC Lions

On Saturday evening, the EVZ Women’s Team will face the ZSC Lions Women at 6 p.m. at Heuried in Zurich.

Last Saturday, the EVZ women played their first preseason game of the season as part of the EIS Fäscht and swept the Mad Dogs Mannheim out of the arena with a score of 7-0. After a narrow 1-0 lead in the first period, the Zug women really turned up the heat in the second period and increased their lead to 6-0. With just under four minutes to go before the final buzzer, Rahel Enzler put the icing on the cake with the 7-0 victory. Particularly noteworthy: seven different players made it onto the scoresheet – Alina Marti opened the scoring with her first goal in an EVZ jersey after four minutes.

Alina Marti herself transferred from the ZSC Lions to Lake Zug this summer. “The EVZ’s vision and the structures that have been established in Zug convinced me,” said the Oberaargau native, explaining her move to the city on the Kolin. Her goals with the EVZ are clear: “We want to win the championship title and defend our cup victory!”

A first indicator of where the Zug women stand after summer training and the training camp in Zell am See will come on Saturday at 6 p.m. against the ZSC Lions. The Zurich team has adapted its organizational structures for this season and, among other things, has a new head coach: Angela Taylor is taking over the position on a full-time basis. The Scot played for the Lions herself from 2011 to 2018. Julia Marty (SCB), Isabel Waidacher (SCB), and Janine Hauser (HCD) have also joined the team.
