Last Saturday, October 25, forward Noemi Ryhner suffered a shoulder injury in a tackle. Further examinations at Zug Cantonal Hospital have revealed that the Baar native will not be able to resume training for at least two weeks.
Even before this further setback in the forward line, EVZ had decided to strengthen its offense by signing German-American Kristina Kontny. The 37-year-old will begin training with the Zug team after the national team break. “With Kristina’s signing, we not only benefit from more depth in the squad, but also from her many years of experience,” says head coach Daniela Diaz. Kontny joins EVZ from the ZSC Lions organization, where she has been involved for the past eleven years.
Forward Noemi Ryhner injured her shoulder in the game against the ZSC Lions and will be out for several weeks. To replace the injury-weakened offense, EVZ has signed Kristina Kontny until the end of the season. Meanwhile, defenseman Nicole Vallario will join the New York Sirens (PWHL) training camp on November 6.
«Kristina is an incredible team player and will be a great addition to our team.»

VALLARIO INVITED TO THE NEW YORK CAMP
Defender Nicole Vallario is delighted to have been invited to the New York Sirens (PWHL) training camp: “It’s an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. I’m looking forward to New York and training with the team.” New York will finalize its roster on November 19 and start the new season three days later against Ottawa. If Vallario does not make the squad, she will return to Zug after the camp. “We fully support Nicole on this journey,” says Diaz. “It would be great if another Swiss woman, and especially a player who has already made her mark at EVZ, could make the leap into the best women’s ice hockey league in the world!”
«My goal is to continue improving as a player and enjoy the experience!»

The EVZ Women’s Team will play twice at home in the OYM hall this weekend. On Friday evening, October 31, the Zug women will host HC Davos for the Halloween Game, and on Saturday, November 1, bottom-of-the-table Neuchâtel will be the visitors to Zug.
